this is my recipe:
box of Duncan Hines white cake mix
cup of oil
cup of milk
box of jello pudding mix vanilla
4 egg whites
when they came out of the oven they were flat on top. most of them were even a little sunken in on the top. they did not pop up like they should. Why did this happen? Can anyone help me with this?
That's a lot of oil to put in. I think between the oil, pudding mix and 4 eggs, the batter was just too heavy to pop up.
That does sound like allot of oil. Try making the cake per the box directions and then add the pudding (dry) to the cake mix. That should help.

Is that how ppl add pudding to thier mixes? You just mix in a dry 4 serve box? What does it accomplish?
Usually it's around 1/4 cup oil to a box mix and this plenty. The box (1 per box of cake) goes in dry and helps add flavor and keep it moist.
Good Luck!
Adding the pudding makes a firmer texture.
The extra oil will not only cause the cake not to bake through, it will also cause it to fall.
