I am making a flower arrangement with gumpaste flowers. I am using a styrofoam ball cut in half covered with fondant. Then adding the flowers. Can I put the fondant on the ball and make the arrangement a couple of weeks ahead? Or will the fondant spoil or anything? I am just using marshmallow fondant since it will not be eaten anyway.

You can make it well ahead of time...no problem. In fact, I think it is better if the fondant has some time to harden after the flowers are in place...keeps everything in place better!

I would arrange when the fondant is soft. It's much harder to put wires into rock hard fondant. I do arranging all the time on my cakes.... Yes, you can make it far in advance. Just remember, dust and humidity are gumpaste enemies.... Keep it out of that.

Best wishes to you for a beautiful flower arrangement icon_smile.gif
