I'm going to be doing two cakes the next week that will have me sculpting and wasting a lot. I've never done cake balls before but I've wanted to and this seems like the perfect time. The following week, I was also going to make a cupcake bouquet for a school event. Could I just plop a flower on top of each cake ball and use those instead of cupcakes? Anyone ever tried?

Another question - if I bake the cakes and freeze them early this week (tuesday or Wednesday), after I carve the cakes I'm making, could I then make cake balls and refreeze them till I'm ready to deal with that the following Sunday or Monday??
