I made a big monogram cake topper out of gumpaste and a little bit of fondant. I made it on Tuesday and I need it to be dry before Saturday. It seems to be taking forever ... how long does gumpaste with a little fondant usually take to dry?
Also, whats the best way to put it as a topper on a cake? I've heard attaching it to dowels with royal icing, but I was wondering if just sticking wire up the monograms and then sticking that into the cake would work? Haha, maybe not?! Anyways, if you have any ideas let me know! THanks!

It should dry fine if it is not to thick. 1/2" should be fine.

**Never** stick wire directly into a cake icon_sad.gif Wire would be o.k. IF you covered it w/floral tape, &/or dipped it into melted chocolate. OR
You can use a kabob stick, sucker stick or extra long toothpick - IMHO any of there would be a much better choice.
