Is there a butter cream recipe that is not too sweet. All the ones I have tried are so sweet

I know it's long, but if you sift through it, I'm sure you'll find something to your liking. There are just so many options, depending on what you like..

You may want to try Buttercream Dream, from the recipe section here on CC. I make that sometimes and the feedback I get is always positive, with some specifically telling me they really like it because it's not too sweet. Good luck!

Not sure if I posted this or not, but I've found that if I add about half a cup of melted white chocolate to my regular buttercream recipe it cuts the sweetness...and tastes REALLY good! Now I have an option that's not as sweet as regular buttercream.
