I have a customer who wants sea shells on her three layer cake. I have not made any before. Can you please give me some advice on the best method for making sea shells. I was thinking chocolate molds or fondant. But how? Tracy
My sister is the chocolatier in our family while I am 100% cakes, so I use her for anything I need made out of chocolate! She made me some really realistic chocolate sea shells for a Hawaiian cake I did!
I bought a bunch of different molds and she made the shells.
You can get creative! You can make them from chocolate and then paint them with luster dust, or you can swirl the chocolate to get a natural look. Or you can use solid colors.
There's really no wrong way to do them!!
Experiment first and see what works! Best part is you get to eat the prototypes!!!
