Ok so I saw that James made this cake for the wedding cake competition that he incoporated a cake in a shape of a golf ball in between cake layers. No guess what? a client saw this challenge and want his cake to be similar!!! Unfortunatly, I have an idea but can't trust it!!! icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gif

The cake would look something like this (can't find a pic on the net)"

a round cake as a base the on top a golf ball and then two other layers of cake on top of that!! Would'nt the to top layers crush the ball? Frustrated icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Your help will be appreciated.

thanks,

You would have to have supports through the golf ball cake to support the upper cakes. Something like SPS or dowels and boards. Otherwise, you are correct....it would end up crushed.
