Is This Realistic? If So, Any Tips?

OK, here goes...My older son is turning 3 and my younger 1 within a week and half of each other, so we are doing one party for them. We have invited 35 children, right now about 20 have RSVPed yes. Well, I planned on doing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on top of a sheet cake for the adults to share, which I don't think (crossing my fingers and knocking on wood) will be that big of an issue. I am doing the clubhouse ahead of time, so that all I have to do is the sheet cake part. My issue is that I came up with the idea of doing a mini cake for each child. I got a cookie cutter in the shape of Mickey's head and was gonna to two stacked can covered with fondant and possibly decorated like this...

Would this be realistic? When I originally thought of this idea there were gonna be around 10 kids, but we have just kept inviting. I have put my foot down that there will be no more kids invited. I am thinking if I can get it in to an assembly line style, I might be able to get it done.

Any suggestions will be appreciated..and yes, I know, I always over do things!

My experience has been that young kids don't really care for fondant much, so I'm thinking if you don't have a lot of time or if its really going to stress you out, maybe just stick to the cake and make it amazing!

I don't know how fast at working you are. I am not fast - just do it for the family. I made 3 dozen cookies the other night for my nephew's party - I just bought Milk Arrowroot and Maria biscuits and iced them in the form or Superhero logos and it took me 4 hours. For my own son's birthday, I made fancy cupcakes with flooded RI images and it took me 4 hours as well. I guess it depends on how much time you have. Sounds like a really cute idea though! If you have someone that can come over and help you - assembly line style like you said, it may not be too much of a strain!

I would never consider doing 20-35 mini cakes, extremely time consuming in my mind. Even if it only took 10 minutes per mini which isn't a lot at all, its 200 - 350 minutes (or 3.3 - 5.8 HOURS). I would do one cake or cupcakes with mickey ears even. much more time efficient.

I agree, they will be time consuming. I like the idea of the cupcakes, or you could make the cookies you have in the link and cover them with fondant too...

Here are some pics that might offer some inspiration if you decide to go the cc route:
