I need to make a cake for Saturday 12:30 pick up. OK here is the issue.
I am putting edible images of sock monkey babies on the sides. I frosted it today and I am LEAVING TOWN Friday morning at 8am.
The order is for a family members baby shower and they knew in advance that I would have to make it early.
So what to do?
How do I keep it fresh?
Do I put the images on tonight so the buttercream is not to dry. or do I finish it in the mornig and hope the images will stick to the buttercream?
Will the butter cream dry to much?
Sorry if it seems silly but I am still new to the images and never make a cake two days before its due! I'mnot sure how to deal with it...

Edible images are pretty sturdy. Just put them on tmw morning and they will last no problem. To get them to stick to the buttercream, mist (lightly!) the area of the cake where they will be placed, then put on the images ... Done! thumbs_up.gif

The film strip in my pics is edible images on buttercream. I put them on the day before the cake was picked up and it then was stored in the fridge until the following day ( 48 hours later)

I tried misting once... And ONLY once!!! I completely botched it. Too much water. Now I use Piping Gel when the cake has already crusted, or if it's on Fondant, or on a cookie. Just some other options.
