I know I have een it mentioned but I have done a search and I can't find the recipe can anyone help?
Hi, I just found this recipe the other day. I have not tried it yet though.
1/3 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups (approx. 1 lb) confectioners sugar, sifted
Makes 3 cups.
Instructions:
Cream shortening and butter with elextric mixer. Add peanut butter, milk and vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all the sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For best results, keep icing bowl in refrig when not in use.
Hope this helps!
The kind I use is:
1/2 c peanut butter
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 c milk (more or less, depending on the consistency you want)
This needs to be whipped at HIGH SPEED, otherwise, you could end up with a very thick frosting that won't spread well. It's still quite yummy, regardless...

I usually use my regular buttercream icing and add peanut butter to it. I do not measure out the peanut butter, I just add and taste as I go along until it is to my liking. Also, it is heavenly with chocolate cake/cupcakes.
Hope that helps
