Actually, my question is more on how to make the fondant look like real ribbon?
I have seen many cakes where the bows look like they are made out of real ribbon and I love it!! I need to make a bridal shower cake and I'm planning to make a ribbon for the top but I'd like to make it look like actual fabric...

Can anyone share some tips?
Thanks in advance,
Laura

Hi, you can get the fabric look on the fondant by using textured rolling pins. Here is a link from Global Sugar Art,

If you use a luster dust on it it will give it the satin look. My baby bassinet cake in my photos, the skirt is fondant and I brushed super pearl luster dust on it to give it the shine of satin.

Thank you ladies. I will try both.

I have a few textured rolling pins but none that look like fabric... I'll check out my local supply store to see what they got.

I appreciate the help.
