A customer recently contacted me and asked me if I can do this wedding cake. I cant tell if its made with fondant or buttercream, or does it matter? She also told me, no flowers. And I have no clue what to charge, I'm still working on that part... Any help?? icon_eek.gif

(I'm not sure where she got the picture, so I dont know who made it)

That cake could easily be reproduced in either BC or fondant- give her price quotes for both. If she wants the ribbon border on it, have her supply that that way she gets the exact color match that she wants to her wedding colors.

As for pricing, call around to various bakeries in your area and see what they charge. I would do an average of all their prices as a base price to start yourself.

For example:

Bakery A charges $2/serv.
Bakery B charges $7/serv
Bakery C charges $4/serv.

2+7+4= 13. Divide 13 by 3 and get your price = $4.33/serv. I would just round it up to $4.50.

I believe it can be done in BC or fondant. As far as pricing, how many servings will you be making (not how many will they be CUTTING) times your per-serving price.
