I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on what type of metal is used to put those whimsical flowers, stars etc into the cakes. I was told that metal should mnever be put into cake directly, but in so many pictures it looks like it has been.
Please let me know as I would like to try on a cake I am about to make.
Thanks
vanessa

A lot of people use straws in the cake and put the medal pieces in them...like the coffee straws.

Also make sure that the wire gauge is correct for the weight of the object. I believe that the lower the number the thicker the wire, and vice versa. HTH
