Does anyone know how to achieve the dark colors for fondant? I was trying to make a really dark pink but I couldn't ever get it to get any darker. It seems like the more coloring I put in it the more it affects my texture and makes it hard to work with. Anyone have any suggestions about coloring or a brand that works better?

Americolor brand works pretty well, as you don't have to add a ton of color to get a darker shade. You probably have to add in some more powdered sugar to offset all the gel you have put in. Are you making your own fondant? If you do, it's really easy to color it, because you add in the color before the sugar, so you get the right consistency. I find with wilton colors, you have to add a ton to get the right color. HTH

CakeMommy was right on about everything!

For me, it's such a hassle that I just buy the dark colors. I really like Satin Ice. I get it from www.intotheoven.com. They have pretty good prices!
