I am thinking about doing the ducks in a tub cake with the wooden slats for a baby shower in June or July.

Is there a problem if I were to go ahead and make the slats, towel, ducks, and soap this far in advance as I get time? They will not be eating these pieces so I think it would be okay to do as long as I put them in a dry container until the shower.

I normally wouldn't try to do this early, but I am pregnant myself and will be in my 7th or 8th month when my friend's shower get here, so I want to get these pieces done early!!

TIA,
Mindy

Hi Mindy, first Congradulations! icon_smile.gif

Personaly I wouldn't do it this far ahead. I would wait till the date is confirmed and make them maybe two weeks ahead. icon_smile.gif

I had a bunch of fondant animals to do for a cupcake tower. I did them almost a month early. I don't know that I would start yet, maybe another couple weeks, like first week of may.

Just make sure you keep them in an airtight container that will not get moved.

Some of my animals "settled" and I had to put little fondant pieces under their bums!
