i dont know about the airbrush paint or gel but i think that youre better off making sure that your fondant has dried before you even try to paint or dust it.

I use gels to paint on fondant, either full strength, or diluted with a bit of vodka. I have painted on fresh fondant and dry fondant - and I prefer painting on freshly applied fondant. The paint is more easily absorbed.

Airbrush color and gel can be used to paint fondant. It does't necessarily need to be dry. Depending on your design or the effect you want, the gel may need to be thinned a bit (alcohol evaporates faster).

I would take a small piece of fondant, roll it out, and try your design.

I love using airbrush color as paint. It's very vibrant and consistent. I have used it on fresh fondant, crusted over fondant and gumpaste.

Good luck with your painting.
