I have a 4 tier stacked hexagon wedding cake to do in May. Couple of questions (can you tell I've never done this shape before?)...

1. What do you use between the tiers/layers...cannot find cake plates that will work with the pillars. Does anyone know where to find them/buy them? Could I use foam board cut that shape, put in the hidden pillars for support?

2. She wants the top layer raised on columns...is this doable no having a hexagon plate and one with feet? This part really makes me nervous...only 3 inch crystal columns...should I just suggest that we stack the whole thing?

Any advise you could give would be greatly appreciated!

When I wanted the hexagon shape someone suggested http://logicpic.com/HEX.HTM that site, they have an impressive collection and have the plate you can set the cake on; just not sure about the top cake that would be away from the rest of the cake...hth! icon_biggrin.gif and if the link doesn't work it's just logicpic, google for that icon_wink.gif
