I need a cake to feed 40 people. I'm thinking a single layer 11x15 is big enough. Is this correct or should I use a double layer 9x13 or a single 12x18?

My calculations show that a 11x15 double layer with a filling will feed 35-45. But, I do cut my slices a little bigger than the wilton suggestion on sheet cakes.

My 11 X 15 serves 35 and 12 X 18 about 50. This is one 2" layer, not torted or filled.
