Hi all,

Could you share with me what you do to keep ribbon from soaking in oil and moisture when placed on a BC cake? I would like to use red ribbon for a shower cake and don't want it to look all splotchy!

Thanks a bunch,

Hazel

I make sure it's not a satin ribbon, but a grossgrain ribbon, which is sturdier.
Not sure what others do but that has worked for me.

I'm new at decorating and was wondering the same thing. I've seen many beautiful BC and fondant cakes with ribbon. Some of them did look like satin. Can anyone help with this question? Can you give instructions for both BC and fondant cakes?

Thanks!!!!!

Thanks MJCakes.... I had wondered about that type ribbon. I will give that a try.

Does anyone else have any pointers that Christinacake and I could benefit from?
