Help - My Fondant...

Okay I tried to do a topsy turvy and on each tier my fondant folded on itself and How do I prevent this... Please help.

I'm not sure what you mean by "folded on itself?" Could you provide some more details?

At the base of the cake as I tried to smooth it ended up gathering a the bottom and created wrinkles.

Yeah, it takes practice! You have to kind of lift the fondant up and a little out as you go arond smoothing. Also be careful not to pull down really hard on the sides. Just as I let my cakes settle, I let my fondant 'settle' too. This might not be necessary but it works for me -- before I totally smooth my fondant and stick it to the side of the cake I'll set the cake on something tall (like a large can of shortening) so the fondant can kind of 'pull down' by its own weight. Then I go around and smooth the side, lifting up and out as I go. There are some tutorials on YouTube about covering and smoothing fondant, check them out!
