I'm very new to cake decorating and want to use fondant to cover a star shaped cake. I would like the fondant to be either purple or pink.

Question #1: Can I tint the cake while I'm making it?
Question #2: Can I add a shimmer/glitter to the fondant? How?
Question #3: If I were to use buttercream frosting instead, would I be able to add a shimmer to the icing?

Thanks for any help!!

1) yes

2) you can dry dust on or airbrush on luster dust.

3) you would have to airbrush the luster dust on BC. dry brushing it on might not work so well.

HTH!
