HI, I WANT TO MAKE MY HUSBAND A STANDING BEER CAKE BUT DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA ON HOW TO DO IT.
EXAMPLE A HEINEKEN BOTTLE - WHAT SIZE OF CAKE PAN SHOULD I USE, HOW DO I PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
ANY IDEAS PLEASE
Never made a bottle - but I did a beer mug once. I would guess you'd use small round layers - four or six inch. I would fill, stack, and use a dowel rod down the center of them all, then carve and ice. Don't know if that's enough help. Good luck.
You stack 3 or 4 cakes with supports like you would any tiered cake.
(So the bottle would consist of three separate cakes on their own cake circles).
Put a long, thick dowel through the entire structure before frosting because the stack will wiggle and settle from the hammering.
You can either carve the neck out of cake or form it with Rice Krispy Treats.
Frost and enjoy the surprise on your hubby's face!
