This sugar has a life of it's own! I swear it calls out to me and say I want to be a ... and a ... and you can forget about being done unless you make me into a ... ! I spent way too much time doing making this. I kept having to start and stop to deal with my 4 kidoes. You know they keep demanding that I feed them! The nerve. Can't they see I am in the zone?
I used Sharon's pics as inspiration. Thank you Sharon! This is my first fondant box with a lid. My first tassle, tissue paper, feather and the first time decorating a whole vignette for the cake.
I learned how to work my clay extruder in the right way( my hand hurst now!), how to apply highlighter super shiny, ok I am not going to list it all but I learned a ton!!! It made and remade several things and that is probablly where the time went...LOL I really tried to pay attention to the small details that I have admired in so many pics in the galleries here.
The actual cake is 5x5 x7 inches tall.
I am calling this one 'Mon Amour' (My love) yes I even went overboard in French...LOL I hope the translation is correct.
The lable in the ink pot says black ink. The written note says, "My Darling, My heart is yours forever."
Ok...um WOW! That is amazing! All the details you did are so good! How in the world did you do that tassle? Your roses and rose leaves look so real too!
Really incredibly gorgeus! I want to know how you did the tassle as well... Part is gold thread... how did you do that??
Oh. My. God.
That is simply amazing work! This may be the best commercial for Sharon's DVDs yet! You should be incredibly proud!
WOW!!!!.....You did an AMAZING job!!.....You're very talented...I wish I could do something that beautiful.
WOW!!! This is beautiful. I also would like to know how you made the tassle -- please share your technique with us.

How gorgeous. Love everything--and especially the super shiny! What video are you talking about?? Got a link??
Absolutely takes my breath away!!! How you managed to do all that and with 4 kids? Did you get to sleep at all? When I get in that zone (which no one but another cake artist will ever understand) I somehow forget about sleep and end up staying up until all hours so that I can work uninterrupted.
Take a bow, you deserve it!
(Maybe you'll do a tutorial video on how you did that??? Please, please, please???)
hold on a sec while I use my offset to scrape my jaw off the floor!
WOW!
BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, GORGEOUS!
great work!
Wow.....that's cake? It really looks like a porcelain piece of artwork! You are so talented! Great job!
Awesome!! I agree with txcupcake - what a testament to Sharon's DVD. Fabulous details and color choices
Bushing over here!!! THANKS for YOUR AMAZING comliments!!! I did snap a few pics while making the tassle so as soon as I can figure out how to put together a tutorial on here I will smack it together and post it for you guys. I am tired I stayed up till midnight to take the pics My husband works out of town and is only home on the weekends so caking is a challenge in the extreem with 4 kidoes(the youngest is 22 months) Funny I made this a as a surprize for my hubby because he didn't get any cake last weekend-that he asked for. I wasn't finished with it when he got home but was in the home stretch with sp all over me and my hair all back in a pony and head wrap..LOL what a sight I was and he brought me roses as a surprise. Ahh love....

Except I don't have her Boxes and Bows DVD yet... if only I did I am sure her method would have been quicker then the snails pace I was figuring things out at! She is a wonderful teacher! I must give her props for I used her pics as inspiration. Where are you Sharon...? THANK YOU SWEETIE!
Absolutely fab! Which video taught you all this? I have been thinking about purchasing her videos, but it's hard to make my mind up, they all look great.
