I have to make this cake below. It's the only picture I have so it looks like little balls are on it. How do I make the little balls? Is it buttercream?

Wow, that isn't a very clear pic... Could it be RI?

I say it's just dots of b'cream piped from tip 2 or 3 right onto the cake. Make it easy on yourself! icon_smile.gif

Maybe you could just use RI to pipe them on and go over it with some luster dust to get it sparkly. Just an idea.

It almost looks like there is a pattern on there too. Its so distorted its hard to tell. I agree with doing it in buttercream.

okay...so buttercream it is. Can't I take a damp paint brush and pat the tops down so they aren't pointy? thanks for the help...it's just hard to tell cause the picture isn't very good at all!

Not trying to step on anyones toes so I'll apologize in advance but deliver me from square cakes that hang off round plateaus. I mean maybe it was Great Auntie Louise's or something with sentimental value (then make a round fricken bottom tier!! icon_biggrin.gif )

You could use pearls too.

(I was just teasing yah in my first post- icon_biggrin.gif )

Yeah, I found that rather tacky myself! And the lady found this picture on a bridal website and emailed it to me....I made sure she didn't want the round stand. icon_smile.gif

And yes, I know you were teasing! I actually didn't see it until after I got the picture to upload icon_smile.gif!
