Can you freeze a whipped icing recipe and if so how long is it good for?

Yeah, you could definitely freeze it. There are so many whipped frostings that get frozen all the time. You would just need to package it well. Maybe get a Cool Whip tub and put it in that or some type of plastic (ex. Gladware). I'm not sure how long it would be good though. Probably a couple of months, I would think.

Hopefully, someone else has the answer. =o)

It may help if you post which recipe you are using. I know the whipped cream buttercream can't be refrigerated, so I'm sure not frozen either...

foxymomma521, do you know why WCBC can't be refrigerated? I've always wondered why. I don't normally refrigerate it, however, I've had no problems when I have. Just curious....

I don't know icon_sad.gif
My assumption is that it has something to do with the meringue, but I'm sure someone here knows the answer...
Good to know you've tried it with success, it's my new favorite recipe! (But I use half butter instead of all shortening)
