Drippy Hang-Y Things On Petit Fours

Perhaps my fondant is too thick? How do I eliminate the drips on the bottoms that solidify and make the teeny cakes look awful after all that work??
I cover them thoroughly over a bowl, let them drip back into said bowl and place on wire cooling racks and leave them. Is that my bad? Should I move them at some point in the drying process to ensure smooth bottoms?
