Ok, so the wonderful ladies at my church would like me to host a cake decorating class. I was so happy with the idea that of course I said, YES. I have had two months to think about what to teach. The theme needs to be in regards to Mothers Day. Well the date is creeping up and I have procrastinated enough. I really need your help, what is a fun simple "sculpted" cake I can teach that will be geared towards mother days. Any and all ideas are welcomed!!

My first thought is a potted plant, you know a terra cotta bowl with cupcake flowers stuck on top with dowels, fun, easy and cute.

I'd say a present, purse, or flower bouquet cake. Good luck!

A lady's hat. There are several in the Easter gallery.

Flowers are always nice. A 4" cake w/basketweave is very time consuming but....just a flowered top is good.
Fondant flowers are very easy....cookie cutter cutouts from rolled out fondant.
