Believe me I made a cake last night and i almost cried and got so depressed because I cant even lay the fondant right (it was a flat cake). So I decided to just have a different plan.

I think you should just change your plan. I'm pretty sure you did a lot of hardwork preparing for your cake. Just make something that your currently comfortable with and use the stuff that you had prepared. You'll never know that you would totally love it.

Just like they said, practice makes it perfect.
