You might try to make the wings out of Gelatin or Poured Sugar. Also you can melt hard candy.

Hope these ideas help.

You can make them out of gelatin sheets. They look very real & are beautiful, but they are also very delicate.

Thank you very much. Can you please explain or is there a tutorial on how to do this on the gel sheets? Thank you all so much.

Okay, how I learned was from Rose Levy Berenbaum's book "The Cake Bible". She actually has directions on how to make bees. The gelatin sheets you have to order all ready made, but you cut them out with an exacto knife, very carefully. When you shape your bees/dragonflys you have to put the slits where you'll put the wings before the figures harden. It's been a long time, and for some reason I can't find my book (my 4th copy by the way), but I suggest to check the book out. She is a wonderful baker & decorator.

I made the wings of my dragonflys out of wires, dipped in dissolved gelatin, mixed with food color.
First, you must form the wings out of wire and then you plunge the wire loop to the gelatin mixture and carefully lift it. Put the wings in styro to dry...

Hope that helps - sorry for my bad english...

Hello Pippilotta, am in love with your frog, could you please tell or give a little tutorial as to how it was done, especially the lips.

Thank you. icon_smile.gif
