So I've tried various buttercream and cake recipes.
So far I only like ganache and darn good chocolate cake. I've also taken a liking to pound cake.
What is your favorite buttercream/topping and cake recipe?

I typically like to use a crusting buttercream for my cakes because I find that it is easier to work with IMO. But if you're decorating cupcakes, Marshmallow Fluff Buttercream is pretty good. It's lighter than traditional buttercream and melts in your mouth. I like using it on cupcakes because I typically pipe on them. I don't like using it on cakes because it is harder to smooth because of the air bubbles in the marshmallow fluff.
