I need a good recipe for a white cake to use under fondant. I remember reading adding egg or something to a box cake? Or even if someone has a good white cake recipe I can make from scratch, that would be great too! everyone coming to the party loves white cake :p

(I'll be using Buttercream dream for the BC and satin ice for fondant)

Thank you icon_biggrin.gif

I use a white cake mix and add a small box of white chocolate pudding. Very delicious. It's even better when you fill the cake with raspberry smbc! It's easy and sounds fancy when someone asks what flavor it is.

"What kind of cake is this? It's so good."

"Why, its white chocolate cake filled with raspberry swiss meringue butter cream." I reply with my pinky in the air as I sip my tea. icon_biggrin.gif

By the way, I just mix sleeve raspberry filling with smbc to make the filling.

heeheeeeee icon_smile.gif LOVE IT! I am totally going to try the white chocolate pudding! Like 1 jello size box? How does it taste with just BC? I'm sure just as good icon_smile.gif
Thank you so much!

And it is firm enough to hold up under a layer of fondant?

I usually prefer to bake from scratch, but I LOVE WASC! That paired with Buttercream Dream is my entire family's favorite!

when adding a box of pudding? is it the instant, no-cook kind? or is it the stove top white chocolate pudding, but you just add the mix? Do you add any add'l liquid?

Sorry for the hijack - but I imagine it might dry out the cake, no?

when adding a pudding mix, Ive always added the instant kind
and I dont find it to dry it out at all, to the contrary it helps with the moistness and denseness as well.
