I am a newbie and so far I have been able to touch my skills up as I go. This cake is beautiful and I have some ideas but could use some input. I think rolling fondant super thin will help achieve the look but I am not sure if I how to lay the pieces on the cake or how to begin. Any suggestions or tips will be most appreciated!!

It looks like a fondant drape to me. Look in the article section and there might be a "how to" on fondant drapes. You might also check youtube for a totorial.

That is a very advanced cake..Is layers and layers of drapes. I would combine fondant and gumpaste to do something like that so it can be rolled as thin as possible. That kind of work takes lots of time..
