Ok, so I am just starting my cake business and I have so far been able to touch my skills up as I go. This cake is beautiful and I have some ideas but could use some input. I think doing a 50/50 gumpaste to fondant and rolling it super thin will help achieve the look but I am not sure if I how to lay the pieces on the cake or how to begin. Any suggestions or tips will be most appreciated!!

I think your idea about rolling it very thin will work. I don't know if the fondant/gumpaaste mix will dry too quickly and you may need to manuver the "drapes" a bit, so maybe just fondant. I would make several "drapes" and just start laying them on the cake and over lap as you go. It looks like the flowers will cover up the seams. Beautiful cake.... good luck.
