I've recently found out that I LOVE decorating cakes. I am a nanny, and have made a few cakes for the family I work for. They and their friends tell me how great they are, but I think they might be somewhat biased. =] I was just wondering if you guys think people would pay for my cakes.. I would also love any critiques you have on my cakes. Thanks all!

Are you licensed? Inspected? Insured?

I think that you've got a good start. I really like the princess cake you made, that's my fav of yours so far, love the scroll border.

Since you're asking if its worth thinking about, I'm going to give you an honest answer. You definitely have the beginnings of a good work. Your cakes are very nice and it looks like you're getting the techniques. You're just starting, and I think you know that it takes practice. Don't push yourself to be perfect immediately and start selling. Keep practicing, keep learning and you will know when you've gotten to the point when you feel your cakes are good enough to sell. I think too many people rush to the "selling" stage and then wind up having disasters and really being frustrated because they haven't done enough practice and preparation to know they are ready.
