Since it's the weekend and lots of people are finishing up/working on cakes there will be lots of people on. I've been poking around on here since before I decided to be brave and sign up and I've just noticed that kind of general trend. Being on the younger side (22) of the general user population, I just notice silly things like that haha! Anyway...I've embarrassed myself enough with my silly thoughts! icon_redface.gif

Aww...thanks everyone! icon_smile.gif

I actually don't have any pictures yet! I am still trying to learn the basics. Plus I live at home still and my mom would not be to pleased with me making a mess in the kitchen. Lol! I'm trying to learn how to do some stuff and what I need so I'll be prepared for when I do get a chance to start!

Wait until later, when the call goes out for the Friday Night Club. That's whoever is awake, doing late night or overnight decorating. All are welcome.

Usually someone who is awake and working will post a thread for the FNC. By the time the thread ends, you can read the "tired" in their words. Some get cranky, some get giddy, but they're all there for each other. They're a great group.

what psurrette said!

You'll also notice that pics don't stay on the home page very long on Sat or Sun because we're all posting pics of our weekend cakes! So if you have one you would really like folks to see, wait until Mon or Tues to post it. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Hello Lexianne and welcome - a newbie myself to this forum.
And its true - sometimes its hard to drag yourself away from the screen icon_redface.gif
So much to see - so much to read.

I am 54 and have never thought of *age* - too busy thinking wow look at *that* cake or reading something new every time i log on.

I am in a different time zone *Australia* so sometimes when i log on it seems quiet BUT THEN the up late and baking come on and before you know it the forum is a buzz.

Its just gone 12.40am here - and the DH is sleeping but me - winding down from the day and enjoying *my time* without the phone ringing or chores needing to be done.

I know what you mean about the lurking! I am mostly a lurker here, I've been a member for 2 years or so, and I only have like 300 posts or something. I like to learn by listening(reading in this case, I guess icon_smile.gif ). There are a surprising number of younger people on here, too. I'm 20, and I love to learn from all the experienced decorators out there! icon_biggrin.gif

Once you're here, you're addicted, regardless of age. We stopped by Wal-Mart and I had to check out the cakes (of course icon_redface.gif ). My hubby starts talking to the decorator and she's interested in expanding her skills. What does hubby do? He brings up "the cake porn" site and learns that she has never been here so he gives her the website name. He cracks me up! He's such an enabler (my cake porn). icon_lol.gif
