Ketchup Icing....

I need to make "ketchup" is there a way to make the buttercream keep a shine to it to look more real? Thanks guys!

after you put the buttercream on and it crusts you can use a paint bruch and lightly "paint" on clear piping gel.

When I did one - I added a little corn syrup to the buttercream - stayed nice and shiny! HTH Gaye

not sure. on my burger and fries cake I just used my regular red bc

The addition o f corn syrup is probably the best way to go icon_smile.gif

Well, ketcup is not really completely opaque. I would make red piping gel and mix in just enough bc to make it almost opaque.
