My uncle has been in the hospital for the past week. He's dying of cancer of the bones and colon. Today we are disconnecting him from all the machines. I want to make something special for the funeral. I am so exausted right now that I cannot think. I want to work around well to tell the truth i have no idea. He is a veteran and he was sooo proud of being one. I would truly appreciate any suggestions for the cake. Thanks.

I am so sorry for your loss. I tend to try to think of funerals as a time to remember what made the person special. I have 2 thougths for you. #1 you could get some photos of him throughtout his life, make them into edible images then scatter them like photos scattered on a table top. or you could make a few things on top of the cake that represent what he loved You said he was a verteran? possibly an emblem of his rank, the rank of the service he was in, did he love fishing, golf, travle, talk to people and find out what he loved then depict that on your cake.
