What Kind Of Icing Do You Use To Dec. On Fondant?

What kind of icing is good to decorate on top of satin ice fondant? Do you have to water it down. I tried royal icing and it was too hard to pipe on the cookie.

Help!!!

I definitely use RI. If it's too hard to pipe, then you just need to water it down. Add a little bit of water at a time though, because water goes a long way.

The way I know that it's ready is, I stir it up and wait for the lines to disintegrate. If they stay there, it's still to thick.
