After all the great help I received on here about deciding whether to make wedding cakes in my new bakery, could I get some advice with one more question?

What are your favorite wedding cakes to make? To start off with I have decided to make myself a color portfolio of just 6 cakes that brides can pick from. I intend to make these cakes first so I can be sure I am capable. I know there are a whole lot of wedding cakes out there that I shouldn't even attempt until I have a lot more experience and I want avoid those.

I am looking for fairly easy, pretty and average size. I sell a lot of decorated cookies and there are certain cutters I am always excited about customers picking because they are a breeze to cut, nice to decorate and look really good when finished.

That's what I would like in the 6 cake patterns I am going to offer. Any opinions? I would sure appreciate the help and my birthday is in 11 days so I have a good reason to make myself a wedding cake LOL

remember even complex designs get easier to do with practice! maybe get some dummies to do - save some time - you could start with the simplest design, then change it round a bit, add some extras.
and also, simple is relative! i havent made any of these either, but they are the pick of my faves! supposedly working up to the more complex ones! and you can always adapt the flowers, colours, shapes, or simplify things back down.

i forgot this simpler one too:
