I am looking for an orange cake recipe. I was wondering if anyone has tried just replacing the water in a box mix recipe with orange juice?? Does anyone have an opinion about this or a great recipe for orange cake?? TIA

I sure do! Use Serious_Cake's yellow cake recipe (

)
Add the zest of 2 oranges. Replace 3/4 cups of the milk with orange juice. If you have orange oil or extract, you can add that too, but the above additions are plenty.

I haven't tried this one yet but I saw it on the gourmet flavor thread:

Orange Dreamsicle - MacsMom
1 box white cake mix
2 c melted orange sherbet
1 c flour
1 c sugar
2 Yoplait orange creamsicle yogurt
1 pkg vanilla pudding
3 eggs
2 T oil
2 t orange extract

It is a variation of the WASC recipe.

You can also substitute you liquid for OJ and maybe add a little orange extract or emulsion. I like the emulsion, the flavor doesn't bake out.

gerripje - It is yummy! I use that recipe and turn it into all kinds of different flavors. It's got the best texture and always rises nicely. I think you will be happy icon_smile.gif
