These two ladies are competing in February's Monthly 2009 Throwdown.

All you have to do is pick your favorite (it will be very hard to choose) and vote...PLEASE PLEASE VOTE. These ladies worked so hard!!!

Contestant A: **MERMAID LAGOON**
Its a 3 tier all fondant Mermaid Lagoon. All of the figures and accents are 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. I used buttercream to create the wave look

Contestant B:**ENCHANTED EVENING**
Cakes: 6, 10, 12, covered with fondant.
Color: Navy and then airbrushed with blue luster dust. The luster dust does not show in the photos; you can see some of it in the photo with the Fairies.
Decorations: The leaves and grass are RI, the Fairy wings are made from gelatin and then painted with disco dust, the tree is modeling chocolate and the rest are made from gumpaste/fondant

Both cakes are beautifully done. Congratulations to both competitors.

I really love the waterfalls in the mermaid lagoon and the details on the mermaids tail and their long hair! The 2 tone on the rocks was a great detail as well. Great work!

The faires with the gnomes and dragon are great! I love the wings on the fairies.

Both cakes are very beautiful!! You both have done an awesome job and your talents are quiet equal!!! For me, this vote had to be whittled down to my personal preference in eye candy and even that required some thought because I really like them both!

These cakes are absolutly beautiful!! I love the shape of A, and the wave detailing is awsome, very very creative. I love the colors on B and the figues, the whole scene on the cake is fantastic.... Congratulations ladies what a wonderful job!

nice work ladies, this was a tuff choice.. they are both wonderful cakes.

It was definitely a tough, tough choice. Both cakes are done by obvious artists and I would love to have the skills of either one. I definitely would not mind to be the loser here, if I could just be in the same league lol.
