Maryland Bakers,

I am trying to gauge interest from other cake central members in trying to get the home baking laws changed in Maryland. With times as tough as they are, now may be a good time to approach state legislators to change the laws to allow home baking.

As I read the current laws, home baking in residential kitchens on farms is allowed. There are rules and classes to go to, but I see no reason why you should have to own a farm to have a baking business. I mean what is the difference between a house kitchen & a farm kitchen?

So I'm thinking of writing/calling my legislators (State House & Senators) and asking for them to review the law and possibly make an addendum.

I don't know if it will work, but I think it's worth a try. I was wondering if anyone else would be interested.

Thanks for reading!
