I Forgot To Add The Baking Soda... Now What?

I made two bathches of nfsc dough... then realized, I forgot to add the baking soda... Will they bake correctly or are the trash?

my guess is they would be really hard/tough without the baking soda. could you press out the dough, sprinkle on the baking soda & knead it in? I guess you could try baking a few without it and see how they come out.

They still come out ok, just more dense and kind of cruncy...a little bit like shortbread. Maybe if you watch the baking time. It seemed like they got harder after cooling...still tasted good though. One of the women I work with forgot to add the baking soda to the NFSC recipe one time, which is how I knowicon_smile.gif I would try to add a little bit to the dough like neomommy suggested.
