HI, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO APPLY FRESH FLOWERS TO THE TOP OF A WEDDING CAKE..DO I HAVE TO USE THE SPIKES, THEN PUT THE FLOWERS IN. OR CAN I JUST STICK THE STEMS INTO THE CAKE..

you have to use some sort of protective barrier between the stems and the cake. Using flower picks is one way - some people use food safe wrapping like tin foil or celophane. You should NOT just put the stems into the cake.

You would wrap the stem, lets say with foil and insert in cake...
