DO i had 50/50 gum paste and mmf to make it so it will harden up for items? And does anyone know what gum paste tastes like??

Yes, a 50/50 combo of gumpaste and fondant is great for making figures, etc. The gumpaste helps stiffen the item and keeps things from "sagging." Gumpaste mixed into fondant takes on the taste of the fondant. Even though it is edible, gumpaste by itself is not tasty - very bland. It is just a good material for objects that need to dry hard.
