I am really needing to do something with gold. I basically have to have the whole thing colored with gold and it has to be buttercream. How do i get gold color?

Well, you can make a sort of yellow-gold by mixing egg and lemon yellows with a touch of brown, but you cannot get metallic gold with food coloring. Metallic gold only comes in luster dust. Unless you have an airbrush, I don't know of a good way to apply gold luster dust to buttercream, but then I don't use a crusting buttercream, maybe some of the CC-ers that do can help.
