It's my friend's 40th birthday next week and I want to send her some 80s themed cookies as a gift, but I'm at a loss for ideas! I'm going to do (neon coloured) 4 & 0, but I don't know what else to do! I have a lot of cookie shapes so all ideas would be welcomed But nothing too intricate, my cookie piping skills are not too great!)!

TIA!

That's a tough one! All the 80's things I can think of have to do with fashion and hairstyles. I don't guess you could do a "mullett" cookie, could you? If I think of something, I'll repost, but for now I'm blank!

Good luck!

Could you do a Rubix cube design? I was trying to think of the brands of clothing that were "must haves". Maybe you could do their labels. Was that the time of Oakleys and Guess jeans? I think I killed my 80s brain cells in the 90s.

How about you make cookies in the shape of records. In the centre you could have the name of a famous 80's artist eg. Wham, Madonna, Micheal Jackson.

Or what about and assortment of 80's cartoon cookies. Things like care bears, smurfs, donkey kong, alf, garfield, flinstones, jetsons and pacman. Everyone loves cartoons.

You could do an MTv logo in neon, the 80's apple logo, a cookie that says "Frankie says Relax", a Cell phone (Those that looked like bricks),Pacman, a boombox.

I don't know how many designs you want. If you need more, let me know.

Post pics, can't wait to see them.

What about t-shirt shaped cookies with "RELAX" written on them in neon?
I had a shirt that said "Frankie says Relax"!, then you could do some fingerless gloves in neon fishnet......hahaha! I'm old! icon_cry.gif

Oh, where is Honeydukes when we need her? icon_cry.gif You'll be all set if she see this as she always has a ton of great themed ideas.

I love the cookiesbyms' records idea! Emily has a great idea with fashion. How about leg warmers? Big hair? Oh, a can of aerosol hairspray. Big earrings. Hmmm... weren't pet rocks in then? Wine coolers? Love Emily's rubix cube idea!

Definitely BIG hair! My sister had the biggest, bestest hair. Loved to sit on the counter and watch her get ready to go out. I think all that hairspray she used affected me. The 90's seem so boring in comparison.

Pacman cookies would be so easy! They used a tiny tulip cutter turned upside-down.
