Okay, I am a TOTAL newbie. I have been reading here about all kinds of wonderful things. So I was thinking of buying some fondant, like Satin Ice because everyone seems to think that takes good. How much fondant covers a cake? So if I bought a 2 pound pail, how much cake would that cover? Like 2 8" rounds? And then how long does it last? I'd rather get the bigger containers but am curious as to how many cakes it would cover and how long it would last before making any decisions. Thanks!

I am not sure how much a 2lb bucket will cover but if stored properly it will last a year after opening. Hopefully someone else will come along with more advice.
