Has anyone traveled with cakes on a plane? I plan to assemble the cake once I get to Florida. I plan to pack it in a suitcase but have it wrapped in plastic and cushion it with towels. Any suggestion?

Make sure that the airline marks FRAGILE all over whateveer you put it in!

I can tell you you can carry a cake on a plane decorated or not but it will be up to the discrecion of the airline and the search party at the airport wheather that cake makes it through security or not. If you pack it in a suitcase, even if you cushion it well and write fragile all over it, it may still get to it's destination all crumbled up.
