Here is the info for the state show. I've been to the White Rose show in York and it was really neat.
Todo - I stink at geography also! I don't even know where most of the states are exactly... icon_surprised.gif
So, has anything been set yet about anything? Are we talking about meeting on a weekend or evening? Feel free to pm me. I'm all for meeting somewhere in Quakertown or something. My only thing - should we meet at some restaurant or something like that since we don't know each other? Just wondering....

I'm so sorry, but I don't know how to use the blog. I tried to post a response, and it's asking me to pick a profile from the drop menu, and I just got out of there. Do I have to create a username, etc, like other websites or what? Also I asked if this would be an "Official Meetup Group" with fees or not, and I didn't hear anything back. Thanks in advance for helping me out. icon_redface.gif

Hi All! I am very excited at the idea of another cake group forming! It's been a long time since Lancaster County had a group, and so many of the other cake clubs have disappeared as well. Sheila Miller's York White Rose Cake Club is one of the few-if not only-one still hanging on! I'm not a member of the club, but have been competing in their cake show for many years. For anyone interested- save the first Saturday in November each year for their cake show and competition! icon_smile.gif

I will be heading up to the PA ICES State Cake Show in State College again this year. Just my e-mail with the info from Kim.

There will be two demonstrations before the big, hands-on class with Betty Van Norstrand: one is a grooms cake demo, and the other one will be by me...and I haven't decided what I'm doing yet! icon_redface.gif

On Sunday afternoon (after the hands on classes), Kim Morrison will do a demo of gumpaste gerbera daisies and Sheila Miller will be doing a demo- to be determined.

Even if you just want to come for the day-watch the demos, check out the cakes and talk to lots of decorators...please join us! We would be more than happy to chat with you about the new group!

Great thanks! Maybe with all the people we can get some good instructors to make the trip to PA.

We have had success with a few...but there is always room for more!

For the record this thread was started with the intentions of beginning a NEW cake club in PA. It so happens that I am located close to Quakertown. But, many people that showed interest are from all over PA. Therefor, the possibility of us doing a road trip to meet with them is very true. Other CC members have taken the opportunity to mention some cake clubs in PA and I guess that's where the confusion has started.

This thread is to join The Cake Artist of PA. It's open to anyone and everyone wanting to join living in PA. I am planning a Meet up the third weekend of March. Those interested may email me and let me know. If March 21 or March 22 is good for you. check our blog for the final date.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
